Iraq - On Patrol Plans for a successful withdrawal from Iraq rely on local security forces being able to take over. We follow Bravo company in Baghdad, tasked with helping the new Iraqi security force.
"In some areas, working with Iraqis has been very effective", states Lt Col Kuehl. "In others, we've still got work to do". Today, he's providing backup for an Iraqi operation hunting for weapons. His men regularly go on joint patrols with the Iraqi police. But ultimately, the Americans are the ones in command. As Kuel states: "If Iraqi security forces were ready, we wouldn't be here now".
