Winds of Change When it comes to obtaining energy from wind, Denmark is pioneering the way. Already 25% of its power comes from wind farms. Now other countries hope to imitate its success.
Wind farms are traditionally regarded as a risky investment. It takes 10 years for each turbine to recoup costs. Farms have to be hugely productive to be financially viable. But Denmark has proved wind farms can work. As Hjuler Jensen, Head of Wind Energy states: "It's feasible that 50% of our electricity could come from wind in future".
