War Casualties

The huge human toll of the war in Afghanistan

War Casualties WIth human rights organisations calling for an enquiry into the execution of Taliban prisoners involved in the revolt at the Qala-e-Jhangi fort, we consider the vast number of casualties left by this war.
Despite America's attempts to play down claims of civilian casualties made by the Taliban, the pictures from Kabul tell a different story. The hospitals are full of men, women and children crippled by shell injuries, and one family mourns the loss of a newlywed couple killed in a bomb blast.
