The Cowards' War

The atrocities of the Bosnian war revealed

The Cowards' War A report made towards the end of the Bosnian War. ABC Australia uncovers atrocities on all sides.
"I saw the others doing it so I followed in their footsteps, the killing, rape and looting," admits Borislav Herak, a Serbian soldier in Bosnia. The crimes that he committed are far from isolated - they were in fact common place. While it was assumed for a long period that the killing in Bosnia was random, "something which outsiders cannot understand", as a peace deal drew nearer, it became clear that the violence in Bosnia was organised and targeted. In this harrowing documentary, filmed towards the end of the war, ABC Australia explains the reasons behind the war's eruption, the crimes committed by both sides of the conflict, and the plans being put place to ensure that such a tragedy never occurs again.
