This is the inside story of an Israeli spy in Islamic Jihad. For five months, Bassam Mallah leaked intelligence to Israel. But after the leaders of his cell were assassinated, the spy was caught.
Deep in the heart of Jenin, a man is in hiding. Walid Ubeid is the last surviving member of an Islamic Jihad cell being hunted down by Israeli intelligence. They were betrayed by a former colleague. “My name is Bassam Mallah. I have been in contact with Israeli Intelligence” states a young man. When Bassam Mallah was caught smuggling guns, he was offered an alternative to jail. “The Israelis asked me to work for them”, Mallah confessed. “They would show me pictures of wanted people and ask me about them”. Following Israel’s assassination of two Islamic Jihad leaders, the group planned revenge. Bassam Mallah was meant to drive a suicide bomber into Israel. Instead, he called in his Israeli handlers. “He inspected the safe house and told Israeli intelligence”, states Walid Ubeid. Ubeid was sleeping outside the safe house when Israel’s bombers struck. “The brothers inside became martyrs”. Ubeid immediately began to trace the leak. Mallah was brought in for questioning. “We told him to speak freely, that he would not be killed”. But it was a lie. Bassam Mallah was executed. His father blames the Israeli spy masters for what happened. “I tell the Jews, you killed my son”.

Spain - Franco's Ghost
- 15 min 27 sec [24 April 2007]
To some, the government’s decision to recognize victims of Franco’s regime is simply righting past wrongs. But many don’t want to revisit this painful period of Spanish history.
“In Spanish history books, there are some blank pages”, states Francisco Espinosa. “Only the side of the dictatorship has been told”. His father was killed by Franco’s men during the civil war. Now he hopes to identify his father’s body and give him a proper burial. Since Franco died more than 30 years ago, there has been a nationwide pact of silence about the atrocities committed during the civil war. Now the government wants to reopen the archives and offer compensation to the Nationalists’ victims. But these plans are reopening old wounds for the Rupublicans’ victims.

Rwanda - Gorillas in our Midst
- 12 min 30 sec [8 May 2007]
Eco-tourism is helping to ensure the survival of the world’s last wild mountain gorillas. Tourists pay up to $650 a day for the privilege of watching these animals in their natural habitat.
Leonidas Zimarinda has watched over Rwanda’s gorillas for almost 30 years. “I track them until I find them and then keep an eye on them”. Protecting these endangered animals has become high priority since the government realised just how lucrative eco-tourism could be. “The worth of gorilla permits is probably $33 million a year”, states Rosette Rugamba from Rwanda’s tourist authority. In recent years, sales of permits have doubled. But not everyone with money is welcome. As gorillas share 98% of our DNA, they are vulnerable to our diseases. Anyone with a cold is turned away.

Billions of dollars of Iraqi revenue is lost every year through oil smuggling across the country's porous borders. There are fears this money is being used to fund the insurgency.
The Iraqi coastguard is responsible for patrolling the Shatt al Arab waterway and hunting down the smugglers wrecking Iraq’s economy. “Smugglers sail into Iranian waters and we can’t do anything about it”, complains coastguard commander, General Hakim Jassem. “There would be a confrontation with the Iranians”.
