Foil Surfing with Laird Hamilton
Inspired by Eric Tabarly’s experiments, the surfing star Laird Hamilton has fitted a home-made metal aerofoil underneath his board.
Towed by a jet ski to reach the speed of the wave, Laird’s foil takes him skimming 50 cm above the water – surfing above the waves.
