"I can't imagine that in this century there are people who are slaves," states Superintendent Ely Levy. But many of the women in the brothels of Tel Aviv have been purchased over the internet by Israeli criminal gangs. While the gangs earn millions, the Bedouin smugglers responsible for getting the girls into Israel earn relatively little. The smugglers claim their actions don't hurt any Israelis: "We're not like those Gaza smugglers who send weapons to the West Bank." But how long will it be before the arms smugglers discover the Bedouins routes?
