Global warming is affecting the Arctic twice as fast as the rest of the world, threatening the entire marine ecosystem.
Polar bears, seals and other species dependent on the ice could all face extinction. With the ice melting quickly in the feeding season, bears are being forced ashore early. Denied adequate feeding time, the bears arrive on shore much lighter than before, ill equipped for the long summer fast.
