Surviving Alone

Surviving Alone Across Africa, AIDS has destroyed almost an entire generation. Many victims leave behind young children who are forced to fend for themselves.
"When my mum was here, we would never be hungry", recalls Nhalnhla Dlamini wistfully. "Now when there is not enough food I drink water." She lives in a small shack with her siblings. Their aunt sometimes helps them but she also has AIDS and will soon die. The problem of AIDS orphans has become so widespread it's created a new category in population records: child headed families.
