Thaksin's Last Stand A series of political and financial scandals have turned many of Thaksin's former supporters against him. Opponents are determined to force him from power.
"At first I thought he looked like quite a nice guy. But now he's showing us he true colours", states one protestor. At the core of growing dissent is the sale of his family's shares in ShinCorp to the Singapore government - a deal which may have broken ten laws. Opponents are boycotting the snap elections called in an attempt to silence the urban uprising. "We don't want to lend him the legitimacy", explains one leader. But Thaksin has retained his popularity in the country leaving the nation deeply divided.
