Khmer Rouge Trial The long wait for justice is almost over for the Khmer Rouge's victims. With the trial now scheduled to start, surviving victims are revisiting the scenes of Pol Pot's atrocities.
"I'm ready to be a witness", states Sorm Pov, whose husband was butchered by the Khmer Rouge. "I remember it as if it was yesterday." Many Cambodians have no faith in their country's legal system. To overcome these concerns, all cases will be heard by a five member panel of international and Cambodian judges. Expectations are high but there are hopes a certain measure of justice will be achieved.
