After the War The war in Lebanon exacerbated tensions between different political factions. Disputes have intensified over the balance of power and question of national defence.
"The war widened once again the rifts between different religions", states one student. "We all want to leave." Hardest hit were the Shia areas where Hezbollah are based. In these areas, Hezbollah remains popular, even though it was its action which triggered the war. But others are angry the group dragged Lebanon into their war and believe Hezbollah should be disarmed.
