Somalia Refugees

Somalia Refugees In Somalia less than 80% of children make it to the age of 5, and those who do will likely struggle to access even the most basic of resources.
13 year old Maryam Abdul Kadir earns 3-4000 shilling (£0.1) every day by collecting hay in the field. She works in order to support her brothers and sisters and is unable to attend school. Ahmey Eymooy Osman on the other hand, is one of the lucky few who had the chance of going to school. Only 11% of all children in Somalia receive a basic education. Things seem especially bleak to those who have lived through the chaos, like village leader Amiir Hussein Deerey: "People used to be peaceful. There was no war. Everyone farmed the land and no one was fighting each other. It was a better life. Now it is just the war. One constantly has to be aware of the war." With no end to the country's lengthy civil war in sight, is there any hope left that there might be a brighter future for the youth of Somalia?
