President Robert Mugabe has warned he'll never hand control to Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the opposition Democratic Movement for Change. The opposition MDC says the war has already begun - and has pulled out of the planned Presidential run-off election claiming the process was a genocidal sham. In recent days the wives of four senior opposition politicians have been murdered - burned alive or bashed to death - by government security agents and their supporters. At least 80 people are believed to have been killed since the first disputed poll in March - an election the Opposition won but not by enough votes to avoid a second round. Since then Morgan Tsvangirai has been arrested five times...and his deputy is in jail, charged with treason.

Long time political activist Sekai Holland was elected to the Zimbabwean parliament in March, but is now on the run. After being brutally beaten up by police last year she is still recovering, and constantly on the move to avoid further detention and torture. In the lead up to what was to be a second round of elections, she and her husband, Jim Holland, have been helping to campaign against the Mugabe government amid an increasing campaign of murder and intimidation.
