"The situation is hard now. After president Aristede left, I lost my income from him. Now I kidnap and I have killed a lot of people." He is one of many kidnappers who lost their jobs as hired thugs when the dictator Arisitde was overthrown in 2004. Now they negotiate up to $4000 for the release of a captive.
