Jeans Cruz In 2003, special soldier Jeans Cruz dragged the emaciated dictator Saddam Hussein from his hideout. Cruz became an overnight hero. But after receiving his military honours, his life took an unexpected turn.
Upon his return Cruz was plagued by horrific memories and insomnia. 'He stays home: panic attacks, depression, chaos dominates his life.' The once labeled hero has now been forgotten by the army and receives no benefits. But he's not alone; many soldiers like Cruz are being purposely misdiagnosed with a 'pre-existing personality disorder' leading to a refusal to pay for medical costs.
