As Ireland drowns in debt, the Government has reached the point where it has few resources to offer - except for cheese. So they've promised to give everyone a little bit of the smelly stuff.
There was a time when the booming Irish economy was labelled the Celtic Tiger. But that's a distant memory today with 450,000 people unemployed and cheese handouts down the line. But the latest plan to introduce Cheese Aid has not been received well, "I think it's an insult to people's intelligence". It seems Ireland's luck is down and free cheese is not about to lift spirits this festive season.
