Minutes after the riot police left the streets of Cairo people began linking arms around the National Museum in a 24-hour vigil. These are the people fighting back against the chaos on the streets.
As groups like the Muslim Brotherhood take to the streets and riots and looting spread across the city, the ordinary people of Cairo begin to fightback, "we don't want to participate in the mobs", Mohammed says. He and the others are trying to save the city and their museum from the mob. The attempted looting of the museum shocked everyone. "We will guard our houses with our lives", this man's keen eyes see that ousting Mubarak is the easy part - once that happens there will be a lot more to repair. He and many others are already looking to the fallout.
