Full Frontal

Full Frontal Avant-garde art, social experiment or phoney intellectualisation and sexist throwback? We look into the controversial Danish TV show where naked women have their bodies assessed by two fully clothed men.
"I approach you with the noble ambition of re-positivising the woman's view of the man's view of the woman," claims Thomas Blachman, host of the controversial show named after him. Each week he and his male guests comment on silent women's bodies: "That's a damn nice arse". Blachman argues that female bodies thirst for men's words, and that men must be able to talk about their fascination openly. Critics compare the show to a county fair, but Danish feminists have so far largely refrained from criticism. "If you criticise then you are just the angry feminist, prudish, uptight". In contrast, the international media were outraged: "This guy is an asshole. The female body does not thirst for anything from Mr Blachman".
