Serra Pelada: Gold Rush

Serra Pelada: The Gold Rush that consumed a mountain and thousands of lives

Serra Pelada: Gold Rush Serra Pelada's discovery in 1979 precipitated one of the world's largest contemporary gold rushes. In a matter of days miners could make hundreds of thousands of dollars as chunks of gold kilos in weight were found.
Involving secret agents, the military government and a 30,000 man rush to seize the gold, this fascinating film marries beautiful cinematography and an utterly compelling narrative to uncover the collective madness that is a gold rush.
