In the rural town of Nanje the only spiritualism going on is the whole-hearted worship of Mao.
China. In a daily pre-dawn ritual the whole town's population jogs out to salute Mao’s statue. His doctrine is learnt in strict ‘ideology classes’ at the town’s all-powerful noodle factory. From teenagers to grandmothers the refrain is the same: Long Live Mao!
