Coelho's Land

Brazil's peasants demand land reform

Coelho's Land A revolution is taking place in Brazil's arid interior as thirsty land-less peasants demand land reform.
The Brazilian government brags that it has done more for the landless than any other in Brazil. But after a recent strike organised in conjunction with a truckers strike, they've got the government's attention. Laws which will extend the legal process of land distribution in cases of illegal occupation, as well as make it more appealing for landless peasants to make legal proper claims, are in the works. But will these laws actually reduce the amount of landless peasants? We follow squatters living on Coelho's land, one of the land-owning class who dominate the politics and stifle land reform, as they raise the red flag of the Landless Movement.
