Organ Bioprinting
Researchers are growing artificial body parts and printing human tissue from the cells of their patients.
Simple organs can already be printed from patients' cells: are kidneys and hearts next? Doctors have succesfully implanted artificial body parts, including bladders and veins, from the cells of their patients. They're hard at work trying to grow other organs - everything from ears to kidneys. Soon these science fiction projects may become a reality.
