Giancarlo Bocchi - Director

Bocchi studied at the Faculty of Art History at the University of Bologna. He makes numerous documentaries on many international artists and intellectuals. In 1976 he founded the journal of sociology of art "Tra". In 1978 he wrote a book on the invisible in art: Art and political practice. In 1981 he produced New York Music New York, a historical film on American new wave music. Subsequently he devoted himself completely to documentary and video art. His video art works and video installations are awarded in various festivals. At the end of the 80s he made his first short fiction films. Since the early 90s he has dedicated himself to various documentaries on conflicts in the 'hot' areas of the planet. In 2004 he made his first feature film, Nema problema. The film won the Best Director Award at the 2004 Alexandria International Film Festival.
