The Truth of Crack Addiction Crack is now easier and cheaper to obtain than ever, and Switzerland is seeing a growth in the number of addicts, with social workers and addiction centres struggling to cope.
One addiction centre in Geneva offers a place for addicts to take drugs in a sanitary environment off the streets. ‘They get angry very quickly, that’s what makes it difficult to work’, says Luviana, a nurse at the centre. Narcise, a former circus performer, struggles with crack addiction: ‘There's help for people who smoke heroin. There's help for people smoking marijuana or for alcoholics too. But for people smoking this, there's no help’, he says.
