The artistic and social barriers faced by female refugees

Kubra Kubra, an Afghan refugee living in Paris, is an artist who uses her body to explore the contradictions inherent to her femininity and displacement. Suspended between Afghanistan and France, her art speaks to the complexity of her identity.
Having fled war in Afghanistan, she feels out of place in France. Walking through Paris, she says, "I started to panic".
