The Power of Dance

The nightclub turning body heat into renewable energy

The Power of Dance Dancers at Glasgow's SWG3 nightclub are doing more than working up a sweat. They're helping drive a world-first power system that turns their body heat into renewable energy.
SW3G club manager Andrew Fleming-Brown says the innovation struck a chord with the nightclub's audience because everyone can “contribute to the net zero heating and cooling system” just by dancing and enjoying themselves. "You have about 1000 people dancing in here; you could be heating around 65 houses with that heat energy," says geothermal entrepreneur, David Townsend.
