"There is no chance for life here." says Gayathri, a single mum. Gayathri, and many like her, feel forced by the recent Sri Lankan Civil War and current economic crisis to seek betterment overseas. To reduce crossings the Australian Federal Police has been deployed in Sri Lanka to train local police officers. "The aim of the training is to hone techniques on evidence gathering," says an Australian police officer.
