For Peanut

The Baltimore sports team working to fight gun violence

For Peanut In Baltimore, rates of child homelessness and gun crime are high. The Baltimore Banners hockey team provides community support for children vulnerable to gangs, helping them stay off the streets and out of trouble.
"You never try to change the kid's behaviour. You try to change the kid's outlook on life" says Noel Acton, the founder of the Baltimore Banners. Daryl, one of the team members, lost two friends to gun violence. He sees the hockey team as a key source of support: "it's not just friends playing hockey. It is just a brotherhood."
