Making The Film

COVID-19 stands out as a defining global event for our generation, a challenge that will linger in our collective consciousness for years. The magnitude of sadness and shock surrounding it makes immediate processing difficult. Comedy, however, emerges as a poignant vehicle for catharsis—a means through which we can begin to navigate and make sense of the complexities and emotions associated with this profound experience. We see this gallows humor approach to life in a lot of dark professions, including cops, EMTs, nurses, and our lead characters, funeral directors.

Their humanity and humor allow us to accept and process what at first seems dark and accept death not as a scary thing to look away from but as a profound spiritual thing while also being a regular normal occurrence processed by regular people.
