The Corner

Through archive and testimony, the past and present come together on a simple street corner

The Corner In 1945, only weeks before the end of WWII, a photo went around the world: it was of young American soldier, shot dead on a street corner in Germany. Today, the corner looks exactly the same as it did back then. For more than eighty years, Marie has lived in the same house by the corner – she feels deeply connected to its place in the past, having lost her father to the war. One day Robert appears. A young descendant of the soldier, he has traveled to the corner from Texas to understand why he feels so strangely connected to his great-uncle. Marie sees in him her late father; it seems like there is an invisible connection running through history.
