How faith brought Hutus and Tutsis together

From Horror To Hope The establishment of the Village of Reconciliation, and an influx of faith has managed to bring together Hutus and Tutsis. Here, both victims and perpetrators of the Rwandan genocide live together as friends, in peace.
"Now we are at peace. But there are murderers who have taken refuge abroad, in neighbouring countries. We don't know what they have in mind. They, too, should repent and ask for forgiveness," says Laurent Niyonagira, a Tutsi victim who now lives in the Mbyo Reconciliation Village. Laurent now lives next to Aloys, the man who killed her sister in the Hutu-led Genocide of the Tutsis. "I was part of the militia that killed Laurent's sister. We killed her with a spear and a machete. I killed a lot of other people later," says Aloys, reflecting. 30 years on, they live as friends, connected by faith.
