As the Trump administration’s efficiency program continues to cut jobs, and executive orders have become the new normal, American citizens are standing up in opposition. RTS investigates the motivations behind the growing ‘Indivisible’ movement.
The letter Anita Wolfe received announcing her suspension from the Worker Health Surveillance Program announced that it was making America healthy again. “That makes no sense”, says Anita, who is worried about seeing her life’s work reduced to nothing, like many Americans from the public sector. However, voices of dissent are rising. Kenchy Raglan is the organiser of the East Valley faction of Indivisible, “a progressive action group whose members ensure our elected officials are held accountable”. At an Indivisible rally, Bernie Sanders electrifies the crowds. “We're here today to ensure that the government of the people doesn't disappear and become a government of billionaires, by billionaires, and for billionaires.”
