The 2001 gujarat earthquake that killed thousands

Earthquake On January 26th 2001 an earthquake of 7.7 magnitude hit the Indian state of Gujarat. The consequences were devastating.
Up to 20,000 thousand people were killed, and even more made homeless. Even the swanky high rises in Bhuj were torn down by the quake's force. National and international aid has poured into the region in an attempt to get the state back on its feet. The people meanwhile, while devastated, remain strong in the face of adversity: "We cannot keep crying. We have to fight. The people of Kutch are very strong. We have to fight with nature".
