“Do you have any parts of your body that are off limits?”

“On my rear end I got Pooh characters…On the front here I have Pinocchio, Pinocchio off to the side with a marionette hand, use your imagination, Mickey Mouse with a magic wand ahhh, Mickey riding a Harley, stuff like that…okay, that’s the only oddball one.” GEORGE

ON SEPTEMBER 4 1997, HE MARRIED – AT DISNEYWORLD.

SUE IS HIS SIXTH WIFE.

“And is Mickey a good dancer? I said, I don’t know how to dance and he went (gestures)…” SUE

“I had five honeymoons here, well, six honeymoons, but only one marriage… and because I’ve gone through so many weddings and because Disney basically was the main part of ruining these weddings, cause everything I do is Disney, she goes along with it and that’s why we’re sorta getting along real good and things are working out. The others didn't okay?” GEORGE

“It seemed like an okay idea (laughs)” “An okay idea?” “Well I’ve never been married before.” SUE

“She’s never been to Disney.” GEORGE

“Y’know I’d never been to Disney.” SUE

AS THEY APPROACH THEIR SECOND ANNIVERSARY IN THEIR TINY COTTAGE, DISNEY HAS COME TO HER.

“You have big items right down to small knick knack-junk stuff…” GEORGE

WHEN GEORGE MOVED IN, HE BROUGHT BOXES AND BOXES OF HIS PRIZED COLLECTION, ALL 13 THOUSAND PIECES.

IN 25 YEARS, HIS OBSESSION HAS COST HIM HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

HIS LATEST SCHEME: TO TRADE UP FROM THE COTTAGE TO A GRAND MICKEY HOUSE.

“There’s going to be an 18 foot water town, like the Mickey water tower in Disneyworld over in the back, to our left is going to be the 40 foot Mickey pool, in the front yard is going to be a big garden with a Mickey head like down in Disneyworld when you first come in… a 25 foot round garden.” GEORGE

HE HASN’T TOLD THE NEIGHBOURS.

THE VERY NEXT DAY THE GROUND IS BEING CLEARED AND GEORGE IS ANXIOUS TO SHOW US SOME OF THE MOUSE HOUSE FITTINGS.

“Every light fixture, for example these are the walkway lights, these are lights in the house – every single light in the house is a Mickey light, every fixture is a Mickey fixture. That’s the lamp pole light, all the sinks and tubs – this is the faucet, every faucet has a Mickey head and this will be porcelain eventually. All the sinks have ears, the toilets have ears, the hot tub has ears, everything is totally Disney, for instance the doorbell has to have ears, every knob in the house is a Mickey Mouse knob.” GEORGE

AND WHY, WHY IS HE DOING ALL THIS? MOUSKETEERS KEPT HIM COMPANY THROUGH AN UNHAPPY CHILDHOOD. HIS PARENTS, HE SAYS, DUMPED HIM – DISNEY NEVER HAS.

“There are only fifty of these…” GEORGE

“I gave up a lot of things, I lost a daughter because of it, I lost five wives because of it, I spend every cent I have on it but that’s it - it’s my love, it’s my life. It might be selfish because I want this but that’s what I want, I’m going to have it, I’m making up for my childhood.” GEORGE

THE LATEST TATTOO IS FINISHED. GEORGE WANTS A THOUSAND ON HIS BODY IN TIME FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM, AND IN THE TRADITION OF DISNEY, HE’S EVEN WORKING ON A HAPPY ENDING WITH WIFE NUMBER SIX.

HE’S MADE THE ULTIMATE CONCESSION, SANDWICHED SOMEWHERE BETWEEN MICKEY, MINNIE AND THE REST IS A TINY PATCH OF SKIN WITH SUE’S NAME ON IT. THAT’S A FIRST.
