Abductions

Child Abductions in Uganda (2003)

Abductions Ugandan children are growing up in fear of being abducted or killed as the Lord’s Resistance Army continues to terrorise Northern Uganda.
Founded by Joseph Kony in 1987, the Lord’s Resistance Army has abducted over 5000 children and turned them into child soldiers. Thousands flee to neighbouring villages during the night in a desperate attempt to avoid abduction. The international community sees no scope for negotiation with the LRA, and a military solution, which promises more violence and hardship, is looking increasingly likely.
