Leper

Leper Since antiquity, leprosy has struck fear into humans. But what's it like being a leper today? In this moving report, filmed in a cinema verite style, lepers in Nepal speak openly about their condition.
"In my village, they said I angered the spirits", says one victim sadly. Shunned by the outside world, lepers in Nepal have formed their own community and are rebuilding their lives. Several have married other lepers and had children free from the disease. "People don't understand this disease. They think that God cursed us so they don't need to love us."
