Steaming Back to the Past

Steaming Back to the Past Steam trains puff through the beautiful countryside of western Poland stopping at gingerbread stations. But who is driving them? Rail expert Howard Jones runs short courses, which lets tourists drive.
When high maintenance costs threatened the last scheduled steam network, officials turned to Jones for help. His courses teach steam lovers how to drive a locomotive. "I'm English and I'm here driving a locomotive with a whole lot of passengers behind...it's just amazing," beams Diane. Yet not everyone is happy with having novices up front "because they can make the trains late."
