Killing Whales Iceland is one of only three nations in the world to hunt whales. The practice draws international criticism, but its proponents argue it is sustainable and part of the country’s cultural heritage.
'It’s resource utilisation for me. Healthy stocks. Why shouldn’t we utilise them?' So says Kristjan Loftsson, Iceland’s unofficial whaling king. His ships hunt fin whales - an endangered species.
