No Justice, No Peace Cries of ‘No Justice, No Peace’ have been heard at Black Lives Matter Protests in all corners of the globe since George Floyd’s murder. It is the biggest civil rights movement in human history.
Calls for police departments to be disbanded are beginning to gain traction in the US, not least due to President Trump's inflammatory rhetoric. His calls for “an overwhelming law enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled” stoked more anger, not only amongst those protesting, but also those on the other side of the blue line. The Houston Police Chief issued a direct plea to his Commander in Chief: “Please, if you don’t have something constructive to say, keep your mouth shut.” After a lifetime of activism, community worker JC Fault can see the global movement finally questioning their own role in racism within modern society. “People are protesting in 50 states because one black man was killed…something’s shifting”, says Fault.
