A rolling mobile punch-up that draws baying crowds across the north of England, Spartan bouts are short, bloody, and brutal. Yet beneath the violence, the club aims to be a lifeline in difficult times. Over seven years, Spartan has become a form of community and therapy for men battling ill mental health and addiction as well as the lures of crime.

Harry Winteringham — Director

Harry is a Documentary Producer / Director and Photographer based in London. He has worked with the award winning AMOS Pictures on productions such as Manchester: The Night of the Bomb, The Fires that Foretold Grenfell and Leaving Neverland. A self-starter, Harry has a passion for telling emotionally lead and sensitive stories. His recent credits include directing on series 11 & 12 of BBC One’s BAFTA award winning Ambulance




Jonangelo Molinari — Director

Jonangelo is renowned for his striking visual narratives and emotive imagery, exploring themes of identity, culture, and human connection. His work is characterized by vivid colours, dramatic contrasts, and thoughtful compositions. His exhibitions have gained critical acclaim, earning him a respected place in modern photography. He has created work for the likes of PUMA, Vice and Belmond and shot celebrities like Lewis Capaldi, John Boyega and Ncuti Gatwa.




Samuel Hunt — Producer

Samuel is an award-winning documentary producer/director, senior producer and journalist with fourteen years of experience working in current affairs for global organisations. He was part of the initial team that set up The Economist’s documentary film unit. As well as The Economist, he has worked at VICE, Al Jazeera English, The BBC and Channel 4.




Marta Velasquez — Editor

Marta is an Emmy-nominated documentary editor with over 15 years of experience at Vice, where she edits impactful documentaries for global audiences across platforms such as the BBC, Channel 4, and VICE TV. Her portfolio includes award-winning projects like Chemsex (Grierson-nominated), The Dangerous Rise of Andrew Tate (BBC), On a Knife Edge: London’s Knife Crime Emergency, United Gangs of America (Vice TV & Amazon Prime), and The Shed at Dulwich (Webby Award for Best Video: Weird).
