Kenya prepares for second wave of Covid-19. The coronavirus outbreak has led to a spiral of problems in Kenya. The international travel ban has especially hit vulnerable communities solely dependent on tourism.
’Covid-19 has come and shut everything down. The main problem with our communities, especially Samburu, is that [the] majority of them depend on tourism.' says Arnold Ithili, a professional safari guide. 'Now we have a very hard time in this village, because of the coronavirus. It has brought a disaster here because there is no food. People are dying because of hunger.' says Rebecca Lolosoli, the founder and matriarch of the Umoja Uaso women's village.
