Inside the life of a trainee midwife in rural Uganda
Patricia lives in Kalongo, a small remote village in Acholi land, Northern Uganda. Every day this trainee midwife is learning how to accompany new mothers through the physical and emotional intensity of giving birth.
Beautiful cinematography captures one local woman's mission to make a difference for other rurul women. "The baby couldn't pass and they decided to run her to the health center. It was very far, so on the way she died." For Patricia, the calling to help local women is born of her own difficult childhood and family tragedies. "I work with the poor because I wouldn't wish to see someone suffering. I know how it is".
