Monument to Democracy As a South African tax-payer, Tino believed his constitutional rights would protect him from burglaries. But after his parents were attacked and house pillaged, he gave up everything to guarding his home.
His family house in Johannesburg is falling apart. It's been broken into and ransacked numerous times. But although what remains seems worthless, owner Tino keeps vigil. "I get asked every day - what are your intentions? Do you want to sell? I say to them: not for sale! This is my monument to democracy."
