Inside the Camorra
The Camorra dominate the transportation and disposal of rubbish in Naples. Garbage is left dumped on street corners for weeks with local councils paralysed to collect it.
It's estimated that the Camorra make four billion pounds a year from the rubbish trade. Much of it is dumped in illegal landfill sites, making Compania one of the biggest rubbish dumps in Europe. To find the vast illegal landfill sites, this film crew just followed the trail of rubbish. "At this moment, I don't see any possibility of change", laments one resident. Approximately 10,000 tonnes of toxic waste has been dumped in Campania in the last two years. (
