Military aircraft are increasingly being exposed to electromagnetic interference, whether the source is natural or human produced. This report investigates the susceptibility of military aircraft to AEI.
"It's not going to go off now, is it?" asks Dr Graham Phillips as an electromagnetic current is pulsed through the F35 into its bombs. In extreme cases, exposing military aircraft to AEI could result in weapons being released without pressing a button. "It can effect everything... from causing the plane to fly in an unexpected direction or even crash", explains Dr Phillips.
