European Commission to create drone flagship project to secure Eastern border

Europe's Drone War Drone incursions are on the rise, causing havoc and threats to national security all over Europe. As Europeans gather in Copenhagen to talk about defence and anti drone measures, this RTS report explores the state of drone research amid this rapidly evolving field.
“The motive is to stir the pot, see how far they can test the waters”. For the Danish Prime Minister, Russia is coordinating airspace intrusions in order to upturn Europe’s stability. Europeans and the Swiss are working together to create an effective defense. Russia is a leader in drone technology, using over 100,000 drones monthly on the Ukrainian front. Military expert Alexandre Vautravers explains that this forms part of “Hybrid warfare”, which first had its origins in military documents from 2010. Mark Hopflinger is Head of the Aramsuisse Research Programme. He demonstrates the many prototypes they have in their Drone Task Force. “But these technologies don’t allow 100% protection against the threat”. In turn, spending is on a huge increase across Europe, as funds are pivoted towards this previously underestimated field. Even civilian medical tech companies face huge pressure to divert efforts towards military development, as Rigitech cofounder David Rovira explains.
