Diny van Hoften – Director
Diny van Hoften (1972) is a documentary filmmaker. She studied documentary directing at the Amsterdam Film School. In 2022 she won ‘De Tegel’, the Netherlands’ most prestigious journalism award, for her documentary "De Ramp met de Phoenix" (The Phoenix Disaster). This award highlights her ability to translate powerful, impactful stories into film.
Our Little Camper Van is a very personal film for Diny. After her mother was diagnosed with dementia, she began searching for information about the disease. During this search, she came across the story of Hans and Wil, who are at the heart of the documentary. During the production process, she built a strong bond of trust with them. This allowed her to follow the couple in a unique, intimate, and respectful way, giving the film considerable emotional depth.
