Recurring Nightmares Once lauded as a humanitarian, Aung San Suu Kyi is now condemned worldwide for enabling the persecution of Myanmar's Rohingya people during her time as state counsellor. Now, she has been overthrown in a military coup.
In 2016, Myanmar began a genocidal campaign against the Rohingya people. 'I have no more strength. I’ve run out of tears’, says one Rohingya woman. Another notes that 'our citizenship rights ... our land and property' were confiscated. As Suu Kyi is detained, the future of Myanmar, and the Rohingya people, is more uncertain than ever.
