Brazil - Toilet Exploitation - 10 min 53 sec [30 October 2007]

Much of Europe’s toilet paper and tissues come from Eucalyptus plantations in Brazil. But indigenous tribes claim their land is being stolen to make way for these plantations.

“This is a fight to recover our territory”, states the tribal chief. He claims the cellulose manufacturer, Aracruz, seized their land in violation of Brazil’s constitution. “We’ve lost our healthy lifestyle. Since the eucalyptus trees invaded our village, everything else has been smothered.”
